PYO Flowers & Hand Tied Bouquet Demo

Come and spend the early evening wandering amongst the flower beds, choosing your blooms to snip and take home. Beautiful, fragrant, seasonal flowers, grown without the use of chemicals, all waiting to be part of your own personal arrangement.
On arrival you will be given a pair of snips and a metal flower bucket to use, and given clear instructions on how to cut. A sign with clear written instructions will also be displayed in the flower bed area.
You are then free to cut flowers at your leisure.
At around 7pm you have the option of watching a demonstration of how to create a bouquet / vase arrangement using a hand tied method. Hot / cold drinks and cake will also be available at this time, though feel free to continue cutting instead if you wish.
You will have access to the flower beds until 7.45pm when it is then time to hand in your snips and flower bucket and have your blooms wrapped in brown paper for the journey home.
As a guide, your flower bucket will hold about 35 ish stems, depending on the flowers chosen - the bigger the bloom, the less flowers will fit in the vase. Stems must be cut as advised and be no more than 1.5 x the height of the bucket.
Flowers that may be ready to cut include dahlias, cosmos, sunflowers, ammi, sanguisorba, sweet peas, snapdragons, grasses and calendula.
Dogs are not permitted on the field.
Access to the field is via 6 fairly steep stone steps [we are on a hill] so we are not wheelchair accessible.
Admittance to the flower field is for paying customers [adults only] only during a PYO session and visitor numbers are kept low so that there's no competition for blooms.
Bringing a clean bucket, large jug or vase to transport your flowers home in water [we'll supply the water] will ensure that your blooms remain in peak condition.
PYO takes place outside so please come dressed appropriately in suitable layers and sturdy footwear - no heels or flipflops please. If heavy rain is forecast you will be offered alternatives dates / times. Sessions still take place if only lights showers are forecast.
You are welcome to bring your own snips if preferred. Gloves are not provided so please bring your own if you wish to wear them.
