A rooted, potted purpurea willow ready for you to plant in your garden.

Salix purpurea Cohu Blue is grown here at Cherry Tree Willow without the use of chemicals.

 

Name: Salix purpurea Cohu Blue

Height: approx 1.5 - 2m

Soil Type: moist, well drained and moderately fertile. Willow will not thrive in sandy, chalky, free draining soils.

Aspect: full sun

Planting: plant as soon as possible. Keep moist in the pot at all times until planting.

Hardiness: fully hardy

Foliage: deciduous green narrow oval leaves. 

Catkins: This variety has the earliest catkins of all the varieties that are grown here. The little furry silver catkins arrive in late December / early January

Uses: The rods / stems are good for weaving and the catkins are pretty in floral arangements either fresh or dried. A decorative shrub for the garden.

Maintenance: Cut stems right back in the winter after leaf fall or once catkins are out.

 

Supplied in a 1ltr, recyclable pot of peat free compost.

 

 

Cherry Tree Willow is registered with, and inspected by, the Animal and Plant Health Agency [APHA] and all willow cuttings are issued with plant passports.
