Little Basket Workshop

Suitable for beginners.
 
Come and spend an early autumn day here at Cherry Tree Willow creating your own little woven basket. With its pegged handle this basket is ideal for carrying your foraged berries, collecting hens eggs or even as a stylish lunch bag.
 
Using traditional basketry techniques you will learn how to create a circular willow base, fix and work the woven sides and attach a simple handle to finish your design.
 
We will be working outside, under shelter, where you can also see the willow growing in situ.
 
Please note that this workshop is not suitable for those with limited or painful mobility in their hands.
 
Hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day and a homemade vegetarian lunch is included. We have a 5* food hygiene rating from Bury Council. We cannot accommodate food allergies / special diets.
 
All tools and materials are provided.
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes.
