Christmas Wreath - How much foliage do I need?

I'm often asked by those new to wreathmaking 'how much foliage will I need?' and the answer is - it depends.

What size wreath are you making? How dense do you want it? Are you using lots of other decorations such as seed heads, berries, baubles etc.

As a guide using Nordmann fir, for a wreath made on a 30cm willow base, you will need about 1kg of cut foliage. This will make a lush, dense base, ideal for further decorative touches.
