Arrive at Cherry Tree Willow, then after introductions and a brief chat you'll head outside to cut the willow required to complete your woven tree.
Back inside Rainy will demonstrate how to weave your tree whilst you warm up with a hot drink and tasty home made goodies.
You can choose from a tall cylindrical shape or a curvier egg shape.
 
As it grows, your willow tree will put out a plume of leaves from the top and sides. The woven trunk will remain the same height, but will gradually thicken and fuse to create a wonderfully textured finish. When the leaves fall in winter, that years stems can be cut back to maintain its size if desired.
 
The easy maintenance details are discussed throughout the workshop.
The finished height once woven is approx 3ft tall.
Willows are fully hardy in the UK and need to be planted outside in order to thrive. They need a sunny spot and moisture retentive soil.
Cherry Tree Willow is registered with APHA and all living willow trees are issued with plant passports.
